Gum disease develops as a result of bacterial plaque, calculus and other contributing factors
affecting the tissues surrounding the teeth. Early signs may include bleeding, redness and
tenderness, while advanced stages may lead to gum recession and loss of supporting bone.
Treatment planning is based on clinical examination, periodontal measurements and
radiographic assessment. Depending on the findings, professional cleaning, root surface
debridement or additional periodontal procedures may be recommended. Regular oral
hygiene and dental check-ups support long-term periodontal health.
