Tooth extraction may be indicated for reasons such as advanced decay, fractures, severe
periodontal damage, impacted teeth or orthodontic treatment planning. Before the
procedure, the tooth position, root anatomy and surrounding tissues are assessed through
clinical and radiographic examination. Following the extraction, adherence to the dentist's
post-operative instructions supports normal healing. When appropriate, implant or prosthetic
treatment options may be considered afterwards.
