Clear aligner treatment is an orthodontic option that may be used for selected mild to moderate crowding, spacing and bite problems. After an intraoral scan or impression, tooth movements are planned digitally and a series of transparent trays is produced for sequential use. The aligners can be removed for meals and oral hygiene, but they must be worn for the recommended daily period for treatment to progress as planned. Tooth movement is monitored during follow-up visits, and the plan may be revised when necessary. Not every case is suitable for clear aligners; treatment selection depends on tooth alignment, jaw relationships, gum health and the patient’s ability to follow the wear schedule.
